Traveling in and Around San Bernardino
If you’re flying as part of your move, you’ll have access to the nearby Los Angeles Ontario Airport and L.A. International Airport which is a bit further away. I recommend that you map out your route in advance to reduce your driving time and to keep costs down. Interstate 215 divides the city into eastern and western halves and connects to State Route 259, while SR 210 divides the northern and southern portions of the city and also connects to SR 259. I-10 runs through the south and SR-66 and 206 also have San Bernardino exits.
Part of the Inland Empire
One of the oldest communities in California is also among the fastest growing. San Bernardino is one of the biggest cities in the Inland Empire, the region 65 miles east of Los Angeles that has had the fastest growth anywhere in California. Bearing the same name as the mountains surrounding the city – not to mention the county, valley and forest -- San Bernardino continues to grow the fastest in the Verdemont neighborhood toward the north.
It’s really exciting to move in this part of southern California. I hope everything goes smoothly for you on moving day.
