Interestingly, Oklahoma City has enjoyed a relatively stable economy in recent years, despite the economic downturn plaguing the majority of the country. Although the city houses only two Fortune 500 companies, it offers many government and army positions, as well as jobs in the field of healthcare, technology and energy-related research.
