• Interstate 880, also known as the Nimitz Freeway, runs parallel to the southeastern shore of San Francisco bay.
• California State Route 92, also called Jackson Street in Hayward, heads east and west, and connects to SR-238 and 185 downtown.
• SR 238 runs along parts of Mission Boulevard and has some of the worst traffic in the region.
• SR 185 starts at a five-way intersection in the south part of Hayward and runs toward San Leandro.
